“Bad luck is what you get, until you roll a four or six.” Apparently, that was the message for Derrick Rose as he played a game of Jumanji sometime around the year of 2011.
Ever since then, Derrick Rose world has been turned upside down. From tearing his ACL, to shredding his meniscus multiple times. From breaking up with his high school sweetheart, to now being accused of despicable acts such as gang rape and drugging a defenseless female. I’m assuming Rose was playing this game with members of his close knit team, when someone rolled the dice and the message read “just like a ghost, you never know when I’m here, to finish this game, you must find me after I disappear”.
POOF. The game vanishes, and Rose is stuck with bad luck until he finds the game he should have never played.
But seriously, We live in a world where nobody expected the great Bill Cosby to admit to slipping women Quaaludes to help seduce them. We also live in a world that produced Jared Fogle. On the exterior, fogle seemed like a quite reserved businessman that wanted you to lose weight eating Subway sandwiches. But on the interior, the former Subway spokesman was nothing more than sick individual, guilty of a child pornography with as many as 14 victims. We live in a world where a rich and handsome football player like Darren Sharper was found guilty of drugging and sexual assaulting multiple women. Sharper is currently a serving a nine year prison sentence, and it should be more. We live in a world where Norwood Teague, the former athletic director at the University of Minnesota resigned from his post because he sexually harassed multiple females through groping them and psychotic text messages. Teague made 245 dollars an hour as the athletic director at University of Minnesota, that never mattered to Teague, only abusing power did. All of these men are guilty of not being able to control their sexual desires, and eventually letting their urges destroy them.
The list could go on and on.
The point is, evil has no face. There are no devilish horns, no visible abnormalities to alert you to stay the hell away from a individual. The only way to find out a persons true character is if they reveal it to you. In no way, shape, or form can someone cast conviction on Derrick Rose as a rapist or sex fiend as those allegations suggest. But in today’s world, you never know who is who.
Now, no one knows for sure if these allegations are real or not. We hope this isn’t the case of false allegations against a wealthy athlete for monetary gain. Rose has been steadfast in saying he did not do this—and, the alleged victim has never called the police or made a criminal case of this matter. She wants civil damages—so the courts will ultimately decide.
Let’s conclude this by helping Derrick Rose find that Jumanji board game, because he desperately needs to roll a four or six.
