Game 1 of the NBA finals is over. The Golden State Warriors walked away with a 104-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. On a night that saw Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson struggle mightily, it was the Warriors reserves that saved the day.
The Warriors received 20 points from the lanky 6th man Shaun Livingston who now happens to be the leading candidate for finals MVP. 11 dazzling points from the old Brazilian Leandro Barbosa who played like he was back in his prime Phoenix Suns days under the alias Brazilian blur. Rather it’s last year finals MVP Andre Iguodala who had 12 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists or his interchangeable counterpart Harrison Barnes who casually dropped 13 points, One thing is clear.
THE WARRIORS ARE DEEP AS HELL.
I know it’s only one game but I don’t think the Cavaliers can handle this type of experienced depth. Curry and Thompson played their worst game all year long yet the Warriors still as a well oiled machine won this game easily with so so resistance from the Cavaliers.
Game 2 will tell all. If the Cavaliers lose Sunday this series is over in 5 ,or maybe a sweep for the Golden state Warriors. Steph Curry and Klay Thompson isn’t going anywhere. The amazing depth behind them won’t back down. Get ready to cover your eyes, this could get ugly.
